I am Black, and because I used the heat too much, my hair started breaking off in the back, so I look like I have an emo haircut (you know the ones that are really long in the back, but short everywhere else). My stupid ass father is trying to force me to get braids. YES, I am aware that getting braids is the equivalent of not doing anything to your hair for while, letting it rest, etc.
But I don't want braids, and I will never get them.
But then, he goes so far to say that my hair will never grow back unless I get braids.
Which is a fuckin lie. I only put heat on my hair every three weeks, I moisturize my hair every other day, use conditioning, keep my scalp from getting dry.
God, my parents are idiots. There is always more than one way to do something.
